Data Architect

At Wirecard North America, we are currently seeking energetic, motivated, growth-oriented candidates to join our team.

Location: Conshohocken, PA

Your duties:

  • Work closely with a team of software developers on best practices for database design
  • Design and implement robust database administration solutions, including resource management, security, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, data management and capacity planning, and implementing failover between database instances
  • Performing migration and consolidation on SQL Server platform
  • Design, document, and implement scripts for instance monitoring, maintenance, backup, cloning, etc.
  • Develop and project long-range requirements for database design and administration
  • Develop application enhancements to further improved system performance
  • Provide after-hours support when it is required

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • Must possess the ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues
  • Experience working with large complex database environments
  • Experience working with large data volumes
  • Expertise with configuring, implementing and supporting large, high availability SQL Server environments, including experience with replication, log shipping and database mirroring
  • Thorough knowledge of SQL Server licensing models and cost-effective designs
  • In-depth experience using SSIS and SSRS
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server internals
  • Deep understanding of database design principals
  • Excellent understanding of query execution plans
  • Expert in SQL Server performance tuning
  • Basic understanding of virtual environments (NetApp, Azure, AWS)
  • Experience working with SQL Server versions 2008—current ASP, VBScript, Perl and XML knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery principals, practices, and planning
  • Understanding and experience with SAN platforms and storage mount points
  • Be a self-starter with strong leadership, professionalism and responsible qualities
  • Works well with aggressive deadlines and minimal supervision
  • Must be able to communicate technical scenarios at both a high-level and detail level, as is required by the audience
  • Ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment with varying requirements and deadlines
  • Ability to produce consistent results with minimal direction and supervision
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be creative and detail-oriented
  • Must have a passion for simplifying complex processes
