Acquiring Merchant Onboarding and Technical Support Engineer

At Wirecard North America, we are currently seeking energetic, motivated, growth-oriented candidates to join our team.

Location: Conshohocken, PA

Your duties:

Merchant Onboarding

  • Administrative onboarding of our Acquiring Merchants
  • Content review of the contracts for technical implementation
  • Review and continuous improvement of work processes
  • Communication interface within the Merchant Onboarding process with all relevant internal departments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Merchant contacts of every level of Integration support with regard to our acquiring product platform
  • Configuration of various set-ups in our systems by interacting with databases directly
  • Support for the automation of set-up processes using scripting

Technical Merchant Support

  • Documentation of solutions developed for customer support
  • Control and monitoring of customer communication and escalation messages
  • Direct customer contact for technical and product-specific questions or issues (2nd level support)
  • Project management of tailor-made merchant payment solutions
  • Provide off-hour/on-call support for severe technical issues that cannot wait for business hours 

Your profile:

  • Experience in US Merchant Acquiring and payment flows is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a professional in the Information Technology or Customer Support sector (with technical experience) is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or computer-science-related field
  • Experience and comfort owning a project management lifecycle which requires taking a merchant from initiation to launch
  • Knowledge of database queries, particularly T-SQL/Oracle Databases
  • Basic knowledge of ETL programming languages such as Perl, VBA, VBScript, Python, JavScript or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of formatted object types such as XML, HTML, JSON
  • Comfort with non-Windows-based operating systems such as Unix and basic Shell scripting commands
  • Good to very good knowledge of the MS Office suite – Excel, Word
  • Basic understanding of data and application security
  • Independent analytical approach, good problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to build relationships virtually with colleagues in head office and other support areas
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of other languages would be advantageous (German and Romanian, especially)
  • Willingness to travel abroad for 1-2 months for initial job training
  • Experience with being the primary point of contact for high-profile clients and customer relationships
